It currently has above 1,000 students. == History == Moanalua Elementary School was founded in 1884. Sixty-six students from first through fourth grade enrolled at the elementary school. "The site of this one-room schoolhouse was on Kamehameha Highway near the site of the current Moanalua Gardens."〔Moanalua Elementary School: Celebrating 120 Years of Academic Excellence. 2003-2004 Yearbook〕 The old site remained functional until 1961, when it was moved to the current site, located near the residential areas and by the current middle school.〔 In the 2003-2004 academic year, Moanalua Middle School celebrated its 120th anniversary of the founding at the old site.
